THE trend for coloured hair has been gathering momentum for the past three seasons, but after four weeks of shows filled with painted, powdered, sprayed and streaked looks, it's clear coloured hair will be bigger than ever for spring/summer 2012.
The dip-dye has been around for a little while now - in which direction do you see coloured hair moving in the next few months?
I think in the next few months hair colour is going to continue to be very bright and daring. We are seeing a lot of people who have previously had a safe dip-dye (a lot of the time their first colour experience) coming in to have a tie-dye, pastel highlights or patterns such as leopard print hand-painted on to their hair.
And what are your coloured hair dos and don'ts?
1. Do use leave-in treatments to blow dry your hair, it will protect and moisturise your hair every day.
2. Do try on wigs to see what suits you.
3. Do research your salon and colourist, make sure they're experienced at what you want.
4. Don't be cheap, a DIY colour job is very expensive and hard to fix.
5. Don't try and be weird and kooky for the sake of it, you should always have something which makes you feel pretty.
6. Don't bleach your hair if it's too fragile, you can always find an alternative or use pieces.
7. Don't be scared of your boss being annoyed if you have pink hair at work, the more people that push it, the more acceptable it will become in the workplace.
